June Favorites | personal family photography
It looks like the theme for my favorite photos from June is Octonauts and the Fort Worth Zoo. (And books. Always books in this house.) Octonaut play is a near daily occurrence, of course. Plus, the Octonauts and their vehicles keep multiplying (thanks to Grandma).
The trip to the Fort Worth Zoo was a special treat for this photographer. My husband took a day off of work so we could go on a weekday and avoid the crowds. Not only did we actually get to go right up to the exhibits but I also had some clear shots. Let’s just say that photo of my husband and Andrew in front of the glass would NOT have been possible the last time we went. I also got to document Andrew’s first ride on the zoo train. Can you see the joy on his sweet little face?
Something else exciting happened in June, too. The stinker boy turned 3! I spent far more time hostessing and enjoying the time with my family and friends than I did taking photos. Just imagine homemade Octonauts decorations (crepe paper “seaweed”) and a very happy little boy. He was thrilled that I was able to make a birthday treat that met all of his dietary restrictions, and I think everyone else enjoyed the Oatmeal Cookie Peach Cobbler, too. He did have a little trouble being overly possessive of his new toys, though. “It’s not his birthday!” I guess every day, even your birthday, is an opportunity to learn how to be kind to others.
